You may have noticed I haven't been on X / Twitter as much lately. But fret not, action figure photo fans, for the reason is simple. I'm dedicating a lot more time to putting together something I think you'll all enjoy, and will be helpful to your figure photog efforts!
I'm still on the ol' socials, though, so be sure to follow Toypixx on YouTube, X / Twitter, Instagram, and even Facebook, for when I do step the social media back up.
I'm also working on very little caffeine. In fact, I'm gonna fix that now while Prime shows he still has the touch. And the POWAH!
PICTURE-PERFECT PREORDERS
Not a lotta photogenic figures went up for preorder this past week, but one thing did show up that caused a stir on the internet: The Joker / Murray Franklin studio set!
I don't like to get into pricing discussions (unless it's speculating about what something's price may be), and I won't here. McFarlane Toys released a statement explaining why this costs $250, so if ya think it's reasonable, go for it!
Plus, Mythic Legions put out some BBTS exclusives that look insanely good. And 303 Toys, whom I'd not heard of until now, has some crazy-ornate figures with all kinds of accessories! So, even if you're not into 'em, you should probably check 'em out.
Also, I still need to get a caffeinated beverage. My hands aren't nearly as shaky as they should be.
NOTE: Entertainment Earth, eBay, and HobbyLink Japan links are affiliate links, which means I get a cut of the sale at no extra cost to you
November's Patreon photo contest is live! This month's theme is RELAXATION!

Something crazy happened this week: people started really using the backgrounds and effects, on X / Twitter, and started tagging me in 'em. And I gotta tell ya, it was so cool to see people getting use out of 'em on that platform! I'm used to people using them on IG, but seeing the adjustments on X just took it to a new, real-time kinda level.
Anywho, here are more backgrounds and effects to use for your action figure photography! And, because people ask, you can print out the backgrounds. They can be printed on something as wide as 38" with a slight loss of quality, but they'll probably be blurred anyway in your shots, so who cares?
Though my preferred method, when I've got a huge one, is to put them on a monitor, then light up the figures separately.
As always, Monday was the day we chatted figures that'd gone up for preorder, in the previous week, we thought would look great under your lights and front of your lens!
But the real action came on Thursday, when we discussed some of the most photogenic figures of all time! It's not at all a complete list, as we all realized it'll take a few livestreams to nail down the best lines / figures, but if you'd like to see what we came up with, click here.
Click the replays to check 'em out, and remember to join us on the Toypixx livestreams every Monday and Thursday at 7:00 PM EST.
2025 will be here before we know it, and I'm ramping up for it in a big way! More lighting supplies, more figures, more pictures, more graphics, and WAY more things to help you with your pics are on the way!
The Toypixx Newsletter December 22, 2024 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE IS THE COLLECTION TRANSFORMING? Toypixx focuses on 1/12-scale photogenic figures. But yours truly does dig Transformers MDLX figures. And now, the Age of the Primes has me curious. With the upcoming office space, I'm thinking about what I can do with it, and think a lot of it's gonna have to do with dios and other figure photog things. But a crew that's woefully underrepresented in dios is the Transformers....
The Toypixx Newsletter December 15, 2024 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE ONE STEP AT A TIME! Thanks to all of you, I've been able to build an audience for Toypixx. First, I went hard on social media, learned what works, and slowed way down. I'm coming back to it in the near future, but it was kind of a testing phase. Second, beginning a few years ago, I started playing on YouTube, and am close to discovering what works there. Just need a little more testing. And maybe some...

They make our work easier and can be great tools for efficiency. But when they stop acting like tools for an easier life and more like flaming death rays where, instead of killing you, they just subtly claw at you, bad things happen. Such was the case with this Chun-Li photo. The computer started acting up...
