ONE STEP AT A TIME!

Thanks to all of you, I've been able to build an audience for Toypixx. First, I went hard on social media, learned what works, and slowed way down. I'm coming back to it in the near future, but it was kind of a testing phase.

Second, beginning a few years ago, I started playing on YouTube, and am close to discovering what works there. Just need a little more testing.

And maybe some additions to the Jada army!

One of the things that's been holding me back is the fact I've been back and forth between mom's place (I've been helping her business) and mine. That's made time quite the precious commodity. So what's going to happen is I'm letting go of my place and getting an office in mom's town. That'll save me a lot of money with which to build Toypixx, and give me one location for all my stuff, which'll save a ton of time!

Basically, things will be getting back to normal, and improving quickly, very soon. And I kinda can't wait.

PICTURE-PERFECT PREORDERS

With the end of the year nearly here, it's clearly becoming vacation time for a whole lotta people, including marketers and designers at our favorite action figure companies. Of course, that doesn't mean EVERYONE'S on break.

The only thing I "need" from this past week is the Mirage Studios Leatherhead. But I like the look of Frazetta Girls' Vampirella, though without waist articulation, she's a non-starter for yours truly. That, of course, means I have a stay of execution from Mr. Stabby.

Join me tomorrow, on YouTube, at 7:00 PM EST so we can discuss these photogenic figures, and whatever else ends up getting chatted about.

NOTE: Entertainment Earth, eBay, and HobbyLink Japan links are affiliate links, which means I get a cut of the sale at no extra cost to you

Now for some Patreon freebies! But first (and second)...

Voting for November's Patreon photo contest ended earlier this month, and the winner was thids image from Great War Gallery.

Congrats on the Road Pig and Rawkus, sir!

Next up: December's Patreon photo contest is now open! The theme is "The Holidays"! So show off those holiday photo skills by joining the Grande tier ($5.00). If you win, you'll get an exclusive GI Joe Classified Nemesis Immortal!

December's contest ends December 31 at 11:59 PM PST.

Another set of Patreon freebies went out this week!

First up is a boxing ring wallpaper, because I watched a movie about George Foreman last week. Yeah, I'm a simple man with simple inspirations. There's also a control room wallpaper simply because every hero, villain, or team needs a command center.

This week's effects were a spotlight and some fiery sparks. Remember to paste effects files above your main image layer in Photoshop and set it to Screen.

And, of course, this week's hi-res image and Photoshop files.

Anyway, if ya dig any of 'em, go get 'em!

THIS WEEK'S VIDEOS

Never had a put as many photogenic action figures as I did in last week's newsletter, and holy crap, we talked about ALL of them on Monday's livestream! I tried to keep it moving, but some things were just so cool, we stayed on 'em for quite a while.

It's been a few years since I've picked up any Hasbro Transformers, and I'm getting REALLY itchy. So, on Thursday's livestream, we discussed how I should go about getting back into them, with the main thought being to rip off the band-aid with Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime.

And here I thought I was safe from Mr. Stabby.

Click the replays to check 'em out, and remember to join us on the Toypixx livestreams this Monday and Thursday at 7:00 PM EST.

AND WITH THAT...

This one's finito.

I know I keep teasing a big 2025 for Toypixx, but honestly, a lot's been happening lately that's leading to that conclusion. The goal is always to help you with action figure photography, while having a blast of course, and I'll be able to do that more in 2025 than in any other year so far. I think I'll even be able to do live stuff. And I think that'll be a game-changer.

So yeah, it's gonna be a great 2025, and I can't wait to share it with ya.

Have fun, and happy snapping!

The Toypixx Newsletter March 16, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE DO I NEED A BIG@$$ DRAGON? I don't have any Mythic Legions action figures. In fact, I don't think I have anything The Four Horsemen worked on. So why do I keep thinking about this thing? When I first saw it, yours truly was blown away. And honestly, seeing how well it was sculpted, I started thinking about the lighting setups that could show off all those scales. Then I started looking at reviews of the Valiant...

The Toypixx Newsletter February 23, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE I'LL LIKELY NEVER AGAIN GET MARVEL LEGENDS It's a weird thing to think about. Marvel Legends (and Toy Biz's Spider-Man Classics before it) were the main gateways to everything you've seen me do as far as videos, livestreams, and photos. So it's weird to think I may never get another one. But after showcasing their brand-new Maximum Spider-Man, I realized the one thing I want them to do (make a ball-peg waist...

The Toypixx Newsletter February 16, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE WHY I DON'T CHAT PRICING Thomas Gray first wrote, "ignorance is bliss." Of course, that was a couple centuries before the internet. Though it was also around 1,000 years after coffee was discovered. Lucky guy. These days, as with pretty much all human history, many have opinions on things they're woefully ignorant of. The internet amplifies said ignorance. And in toy collecting, pricing seems to be the...
