SHOTS FOR THE BBTS SWEEPSTAKES

October 9th was the last day to submit entries for Big Bad Toy Store's 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes. And holy crap, gang...if you've noticed I haven't been on the social as much (and if you notice you're getting this pretty late), it's because I was driving back and forth between mom's and my place so I could shoot my entry pics. And I shot those pics because I didn't want BBTS to own any of the more "artistic" shots I've taken in the past few years.

On the plus side, now I feel like I can take a break for some caffeinated beveraging!

And hey, if you ended up being a finalist in the Sweepstakes, let me know on the socials.

OCTOBER'S PHOTO CONTESTS' DETAILS!

Clearly, October's photo contests' theme is Halloween! And now, the details:

Rules

  • One image submission per contest. If you enter both contests. You may use the same image, or two different ones.
  • No nudity. I want to show the submissions off and I don’t want any social media flagging the contest.
  • Must be 18 or older.

Submissions

Entries are due at 11:59 PM PST on October 25th, voting ends on October 29th, and the winners will be announced on the October 30th livestream!

Send your submissions to toypixx@gmail.com, and let me know which contest(s) the pic(s) is (or are) for. Also include your social media accounts so I can send people your way.

Prizes

This month's prizes are pretty rad! First, the Patreon contest winner will receive the Jada Toys SDCC exclusive Violent Ken, and the YouTube winner will receive a GI Joe Classified Retro Cobra Commander (I have him, he's rad)!

Good luck to everyone who enters!

PICTURE-PERFECT PREORDERS

I don't know what to say here, gang. There were exactly four that I considered photogenic, and two of those are McFarlane, so who knows on the articulation.

But hey, if you're into McFarlane's Bleach take, Storm's King of Fighters, or Mattel's Masterverse line, here's some stuff for ya to check out.

With NYCC happening this week, I fully expect this section to be a LOT bigger next Sunday.

NOTE: Entertainment Earth, eBay, and HobbyLink Japan links are affiliate links, which means I get a cut of the sale at no extra cost to you

THIS WEEK'S PATREON FREEBIES!

This week's Patreon freebies continue to go with spooky season, but before I get into that...

Megan's the first person in the Toypixx Venti tier ($10)! Now I need to come up with reasons for her to stay and others to join. Massive appreciation to you, Megan!

It's a heavy wallpaper week for your action figure photography! First up is a house on hill, surrounded by bats! And no, not batmen. Then there's a crime scene where your Dark Knight Detective, and maybe some other, can hang out. And finally, an actual pumpkin in a barn! Because what's Halloween without a pumpkin? Oh, there's also a graphic of a wolf howling at an orange moon.

And, of course, the weekly hi-res image and Photoshop files for ya to have.

So, if ya dig 'em, go get 'em!

THIS WEEK'S VIDEOS

I was made to look silly Monday night as I asked the question, "Is Playboy still a thing"? Because I based the question on all the different bunny-girl action figures that have been coming out. Then the chat informed me that's kind of a thing in Japan. So yeah...silly.

On Thursday, we chatted the best figures of 2024, so far. I felt a lot less silly in that one.

So, if you wanna check 'em out, click the replays!

AND WITH THAT

It's been a crazy busy couple of weeks! And I think that craziness is finally over. Now, I can get back to building up the Toypixx website, and setting up everything so the YouTube channel can start making money. Because, ladies and gentlemen, you've all helped push the Toypixx YouTube channel to nearly 4,000 watch hours in the past year...and that's what it needs for full monetization.

So, as always, thank you!

Maybe now I can have the nurse pull the caffeinated I.V.

Have fun, and happy snapping!

The Toypixx Newsletter March 16, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE DO I NEED A BIG@$$ DRAGON? I don't have any Mythic Legions action figures. In fact, I don't think I have anything The Four Horsemen worked on. So why do I keep thinking about this thing? When I first saw it, yours truly was blown away. And honestly, seeing how well it was sculpted, I started thinking about the lighting setups that could show off all those scales. Then I started looking at reviews of the Valiant...

The Toypixx Newsletter February 23, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE I'LL LIKELY NEVER AGAIN GET MARVEL LEGENDS It's a weird thing to think about. Marvel Legends (and Toy Biz's Spider-Man Classics before it) were the main gateways to everything you've seen me do as far as videos, livestreams, and photos. So it's weird to think I may never get another one. But after showcasing their brand-new Maximum Spider-Man, I realized the one thing I want them to do (make a ball-peg waist...

The Toypixx Newsletter February 16, 2025 PATREON YOUTUBE X/TWITTER INSTAGRAM WEBSITE WHY I DON'T CHAT PRICING Thomas Gray first wrote, "ignorance is bliss." Of course, that was a couple centuries before the internet. Though it was also around 1,000 years after coffee was discovered. Lucky guy. These days, as with pretty much all human history, many have opinions on things they're woefully ignorant of. The internet amplifies said ignorance. And in toy collecting, pricing seems to be the...
